MCSC Harvests Fast Times!


At the first invitational of the year, the Parkland Harvest Meet, the Morris County Swim Club athletes swam to 62 Top 10 finishes, earned a Gold and 34 Silver times.


Every athlete earned a Best Time, so congratulations to everyone! Congratulations to Brian Stiles for his M13-14 500 Free Gold time in 5:27.16. Congratulations to Silver Times for Anna Baccaglini, Fara Cohen, Nicole Harris, Stephanie Harris, Brian Stiles, Jessica Stiles, Allison Vilchinsky, Amanda Wisolmerski and Leanne Zaug.

The Morris County Swim Club traveled to Allentown PA for the Fall Harvest swim meet and Brian Stiles of Denville picked up the first MCSC Gold Time of the Short Course season in the M13-14 500. The Gold Time qualifies the swimmer for the NJ Junior Olympics in March. Stiles swam in 5:27.16, an improvement of 17.43 seconds and he also earned Silver status in 4 events, the 400IM, 200 Free, 100 Back and 50 Free. The Silver Times qualify swimmers for the Silver Championship, the last chance meet in March to try for Gold Times. Also from Denville and earning Silver-qualifying times were Anna Baccaglini in 5 events, Nicole Harris in 4, Stephanie Harris in 3 and Jessica Stiles in 5. Nicole Harris is also swimming for Morris Knolls High School. Baccaglini’s Silvers were in the W11-12 100IM, 50 Back, 50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Back. Nicole Harris’ were in the 400IM, dropping 18.93 seconds from her previous Best Time, the 100 & 200 Back and the 50 Free. Sister Stephanie made Silver uncovered Silver in the W9-10 100IM, 100 Breast and 50 Free. Jessica Stiles found Silver in the W11-12 100IM, 50 & 100 Free, 100 Back and 50 Fly. Brittany Campo of Denville slashed 35.41 from her W15&O 500 Free to finish in 6:29.13 and took off 44.69 in the 400IM.


From Mendham, Allison Vilchinsky garnered Silver in 7 events! Competing in 10 events over the weekend, her Silvers came in the W11-12 100IM, 100 Fly, 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Back, 50 Fly and 200 IM. Vilchinsky’s 500 Free time of 6:42.26 was an improvement of 17.74 seconds. Bizze Handen slashed time in 7 of 8 of her events, including 14.8 in the W11-12 100 Free and 14.44 in the 200 Free.


Earning Silver Times from Convent Station was Fara Cohen in the 5W9-10 50 Breast and in the lead-off leg of the W11-12 200 Free Relay with a time of 35.58. The MCSC relay finished in 2:05.14, with remaining splits of 30.73 for Baccaglini, 30.92 for Vilchinsky and 27.91 for Jessica Stiles.


Lake Forest athlete Taylor Good earned Silver in the W9-10 100 Breast with a time of 1:46.73 and improved by 2.96 in the 100IM, finishing in 1:38.77. Courtney Good took time off from HS season to compete and improved her W15&O 200IM time to 2:33.01.


Florham Park athletes Amanda Wisolmerski grabbed 7 Silver times in 7 events raced and Leanne Zaug took 4. Wisolmerski earned her Silvers in the 500 Free, 400IM, W11-12 100IM, 50 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Back and in the lead-off leg (Backstroke) of the W11-12 200 Medley in 34.79. The Relay finished in 2:18.81 with splits of 41.89 for Baccaglini in Breast, 32.60 for Vilchinsky in Fly and 29.53 in Free for J Stiles. Chrissy Wisolmerski sliced 16.62 seconds from her 500 Free, 20.66 in the 400IM and 10.82 in the W15&O 200 Free. Zaug placed Silver in the 500 Free and breaking the 6-minute mark with a 5:59.12, W13-14 100 Free, 50 Free and lead-off leg in the W13-14 200 Free Relay. Brother Austyn took time off in 7 of his 8 events including 11.81 from his M13-14 200 Free.


In their 1st meet for the MCSC, Randolph athletes Stacey Finkelstein competed in 9 events and Lexi Krynicki in 7 and joined L Zaug and N Harris in the W13-14 200 Free Relay. The Relay time was 1:57.43, with Zaug at 28.12, Krynicki in 30.86, Finkelstein in 29.74 and Harris in 28.71. The four also hooked up for the 200 Medley, finishing in 2:14.87, with Harris at lead-off in Backstroke at 33.26, Krynicki in Breast in 40.02, Finkelstein in Fly in 33.88 and Zaug in Free in 27.71. MCSC veteran Randolph swimmer Catherine Barrow set Best Times in the W11-12 100 Breast by 5.20 and taking off 1.32 in the 50 Free.


From Morristown, Gabrielle Ferrara capped of a strong weekend, crushing her previous mark in the W11-12 100 Breast by 27.01 seconds. Maddie Lapsley continued the fast pace for the Morristown athletes by swimming the W13-14 200 Back 43.43 seconds faster than her previous mark, 200IM by 27.90, 200 Free by 17.60 and 50 Free by 3.01.


From Chatham, Marie Psomas-Jackloski dropped time in 3 of 4 events, setting new Best Times in the W11-12 50 Back, 50 Free and slicing 14.59 in the 200 Free.
