8 & Under Swimmers Compete at Seton Hall
James Koppelmann boasted 2 Best Times
at the Arlington competed for the Morris County Swim Club at the NJ
Swimming Mini-Champs meet at Seton Hall University March 3. The
Mini-Champs meet is for swimmers 8 and Under, has events for 6&U,
7 & 8 year-olds and is the final meet of the Short Course season
for these athletes.
Koppelmann dropped 1.79 in his M8&U
25 Breast to finish 31.86 and cut .97 in the 25 Free in 28.50. He
also swam the 25 Back in 30.05.
Brother and sister duo Michael and
Juliann Stiles also took part in the meet. Juliann Swam the W6&U
25 Free in 27.85 and the 25 Back in 31.35. Michael improved in 3 of 4
events highlighted by a 10th Place, dropping 5.37 to
finish the M8&U 100 Breast in 2:09.68. He slashed 6.11 in the 25
Fly, cut .78 in the 50 Free and finished the 25 Free in 18.48.

Bauer Leads Swim Club at Mini-Champs
Patrick Bauer of Morristown led the
Morris County Swim Club with a 3rd Place finish in the 100
Backstroke at the NJ Swimming Mini-Champs Meet held at Seton Hall
University March 3. The Mini-Champs meet is for swimmers 8 and Under,
has events for 6&U, 7 & 8 year-olds and is the final meet of
the Short Course season for these athletes.
Bauer earned 3rd Place with
a 1:36.16 in the M8&U and improved his time by 3.44 seconds. He
also improved time in two other events, swimming 1.43 better in the
50 Free and 3.29 improved in the 25 Fly. This is Bauer’s 2nd
year with the MCSC.
From Morris Plains, Rachael Ahlmeyer
improved in 3 of 4 events. She cut more than 1.5 seconds in the W8&U
25 Free to 19.82, 50Back in 47.95 and 25 Fly in 23.19. Brother and
sister Emma and Garrett Lynch posted 3 10th Place
finishes, Emma with two and she improved in 3 events. Emma cut 3.01
in the W6&U 25 Free to 23.16 and dropped 1.01 in the 25 Back in
26.89 for her 10th Place events. She also dropped 10.12 to
finish 31.89 in the 25 Fly. Garrettt posted his 10th Place
in the M8&U 25 Breast with a time of 24.54, .94 better. He also
dropped time in 2 other events, 2.67 from the 25 Back in 23.17 an
16.69 better in the 50 Free in 41.36. Sisters Bianca and Gianna
Karpinski also competed. Bianca competed in 3 events, with her best
finish in the W8&U 100 Free in a time of 1:46.74. This was
Gianna’s first meet and finished the W6&U 25 Free in 28.50 and
25 Back in 31.29.
From Morris Township, Justin Viotto
improved in 3 events with a 46.03 M8&U 50 Free an improvement of
2.56, a 21.19 M7&U 25 Free and 25 Fly in 28.00. Joey Caffrey
competed in his first Mini-Champs meet in the M8&U 50 Free in
52.85, 7&U 25 Free in 24.65 and 25 Back in 26.98.

Demirel Competes at Seton Hall
Alina Demirel of Mt Arlington competed
for the Morris County Swim Club at the NJ Swimming Mini-Champs meet
at Seton Hall University March 3. The Mini-Champs meet is for
swimmers 8 and Under, has events for 6&U, 7 & 8 year-olds and
is the final meet of the Short Course season for these athletes.
Demirel swam in 4 events and improved
her Best Times in two. She cut 5.98 seconds to finish 28.07 in the
W8&U 25 Breast and trimmed 1.26 from the 25 Free to finish 20.19.
She also had a 44.32 50 Free and 26.44 25 Back. This is Demirel’s
first season with the MCSC.
