Shaffer & Stiles Lead Swim Club at Champs
Annie Shaffer and Brian Stiles of
Denville led the Morris County Swim Club to 35 personal Best Times at
the NJ Swimming 11-12 Silver/Bronze Short Course Championships held
at St Peters College in Jersey City March 3-4. Short Course meets are
held at 25 yard and 25 meter pools.
Shaffer made 3 Best Times in her final
meet for the Short Course season. Shaffer earned a 9th Place and cut
4.27 in the 11-12 200 Back. The time moved Shaffer to within 2.7
seconds of a Silver status time. NJ Swimming breaks times down into 3
categories, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Shaffer also dropped 1.10 in the
50 Back for a 42.88 and took 3.17 in the 100 Back to finish 1:30.78.
Stiles focused on Breast and Fly events
and swam to 5 of 5 Best Times. A 3rd Place finish slashed
6.5 seconds from the M11-12 100 Fly in 1:10.32 and 200 Breast in
3:06.29 for 9th Place. In his final event, Stiles cut 1.15
in the 50 Fly to 33.14 for a 5th Place. All 3 finishes
were less than 1 second from Gold Times, which qualify swimmers for
the NJ Swimming Short Course Junior Olympics in March at Rutgers.
Stiles has 9 Gold Times in Freestyle, Backstroke and Individual
Medley events. His other improvements came in the 50 and 100 Breast,
both 1.66 second improvements.
Jessica Stiles cut time in 2 events and
earned 10th Place in the W11-12 50 Fly with a time of
35.51. She also dropped time in the 100 Free with a time of 1:10.32.
Andrew Strelec cut time in the M11-12 50 Back and finished in 45.31.
Catherine Kruger improved time in her 2 Backstroke events with a
40.56 W11-12 50 Back and cut 1.00 in the 100 Back.
Lisa Pinney from Boonton Twp chipped
2.34 seconds form the W11-12 100 Free to finish 1:22.30 and cut 1.51
for a 1:37.78 100 Back.

Local Swimmers Compete at Champs Meet
Allison Vilchinsky of Mendham and Alin
Kenworthy of Brookside competed for the Morris County Swim Club at
the NJ Swimming 11-12 Silver/Bronze Short Course Championships at St
Peters College in Jersey City March 3-4.
Vilchinsky swam to a 10th
Place in the W11-12 100 Fly for a 1:17.88, a 1.27 improvement. She
cut 2.87 in the 100 Free and trimmed .42 in the 100IM. Vilchinsky
swam a 32.12 50 Free, 45.47 50 Brast and 34.51 50 Fly.
Kenworthy scored a 2.16 improvement in
the M11-12 100 Free in 1:30.51. He also swam to a 40.31 50 Free.

Rappeport Swims at Champs Meet
Eric Rappeport of Randolph competed for
the Morris County Swim Club at the NJ Swimming 11-12 Silver/Bronze
Short Course Championships at St Peters College in Jersey City March
3-4.
Rappeport finished the M11-12 100 Free
in 1:10.71 for a 5th Place, earned a 10th Place
in the 50 Back in 39.10 and finished the meet with a 31.07 time in
the 50 Free. This is Rappeport’s first season wit the MCSC.

Putenis & Wisolmerski Compete at Champs Meet
Zinta Putenis of Madison and Amanda
Wisolmerski of Florham Park competed for the Morris County Swim Club
at the NJ Swimming 11-12 Silver/Bronze Short Course Championships at
St Peters College in Jersey City March 3-4.
Putenis cut time in 4 of 6 events in
her 1st season with the MCSC and earned a 5thth
Place finish in the 100 Back with a 1:17.18, an improvement of 1.15.
Putenis’ other improvements came in the 100 Free of 1:05.12 better
by 1.64 and 50 Breast in 41.87 cutting .89. She also swam the 200IM
in 2:49.71 and 50 Fly in 36.72.
Place in the W11-12 50 free in 29.52. She also swam to a 5
Wisolmerski swam to a 1:07.92 100 Free,
31.12 50 Free, 2:50.41 200 Back, 1:19.03 100IM, 41.48 50 Breast and a
34.51 50 Fly.

Ahlmeyer Saves 1st For Last
Matt Ahlmeyer of Morris Plains swam to
a 1st Place finish for the Morris County Swim Club in his
last event of the weekend at the NJ Swimming 11-12 Silver/Bronze
Championship meet at St Peters College in Jersey City March 3-4.
Ahlmeyer’s victory in the M11-12 50
Fly in 32.57 was a personal Best Time by .43 and earned the swimmer a
Gold status time. The Gold Time qualified him for the NJ Swimming
Short Course Junior Olympics at Rutgers University in March. He also
improved his times in 4 of 5 other events, including .76 better in
the 100 Free in 1:05.98, trimming his 50 Free time to 30.80, dropping
his 200IM to 2:39.03 by .93 and cutting 1.34 in the 200 Free to
2:22.03.
Ahlmeyer finished the Short Course
season with 6 Gold Times,3 in Backstrokes and 3 Butterfly, both 50,
100 and 200 yard events.
Amanda Caffrey of Morris Twp competed
in the W11-12 100 Free in 1:24.78, 50 Back in 45.06 and improved in
the 50 Free to 37.59.

MacEwen Swims at Champs Meet
Taylor MacEwen of Roxbury competed for
the Morris County Swim Club at the NJ Swimming 11-12 Silver/Bronze
Short Course Championships at St Peters College in Jersey City March
3-4.
MacEwen improved times in 3 of 3 events
at the meet. She swam the 100IM in 1:36.27, 50 Breast in 45.38 and 50
Fly in 45.68. This is MacEwen’s first season wit the MCSC.
